In the midst of the interview, Rivers made a joke about the singers weight, referencing her song, “Rolling In The Deep”. Rivers joked that the singer should think about changing here lyrics from “rolling in the deep” to “ rolling in the deep fried chicken.”

But the comedienne did not stop there. She took another jab at Adele as she was explaining the conversation that they had ,on the red carpet. She said that Adele was afraid to sing at the Academy Awards because of her throat, saying Adel was not sure if she would be able to swallow. Rivers then extended her arms , as if to say that Adele was large, and then made the comment , “ oh yeah you can swallow”.  The crowd laughed it off.  Rivers also went in on Silver Linings actress, Jennifer Lawrence, in reference to her tumble, as she went up to accept her Oscar.  Rivers said, oh yeah, “ she doesn’t have the big breast, so she went down.”
